A Sacred Legacy on the
Banks of Maa Narmada
Barwah — a well-known pilgrimage centre of beautiful landscape, all along the banks of mother river Narmada, the goddess of Tapa and Sadhana, Lord Shankara's daughter — truly represents thousands of years of Bhartiya Sanskriti and Parampara.
The Sacred Land of Barwah
Barwah, a well known pilgrimage center with a beautiful landscape, lies all along the banks of mother river Narmada — the goddess of Tapa and Sadhana, Lord Shankara's daughter. It truly represents the thousands and thousands of years old Bhartiya Sanskriti and Parampara.
Lord Vasudev is respectfully known and acknowledged as P. P. Thorale Maharaj (प. प. थोरले महाराज) and Datta-Swarup Sanyasin P. P. Shrimad Vasudevanand Saraswati Swami Maharaj. By the divine wish expressed by mother Narmada, and through a conscious dialogue between him and Lord Dattatreya, he decided to honour the prayer — to conduct and perform rituals, spread the Dnyanbij (ज्ञानबीज) and cultural heritage, and uphold the importance of Ashramas and Aacharas by way of Sanyas Dharma, the most sacred Dharma as per Hindu and Vaidic (वैदिक) traditions — a way of living.
The Journey Of P.P. Thorale Maharaj
Sixteen Chaturmasyas
P. P. Thorale Maharaj conducted and performed his 16th Chaturmasya (चातुर्मास्य) in a row, on the banks of mother Narmada. His known disciples — Sakharamshastri Tillu, P. Sitarambuva, Gandabuva — absolutely conscious and dedicated sadhakas, gathered in thousands of numbers throughout the Chaturmasya.
The Path of Tapa-Sadhana
P. P. Thorale Maharaj went through rigorous Tapa-Sadhana (दिनक्रम) — discourses on Vedant Kesari, Panchikaran, and Mandukyopnishad, with Aoupnishadic (question-answer) sessions taking place regularly. Mother river Narmada must have definitely experienced the very rich and proudest moments.
The Grand Sanyasa Dharma
In his entire stay, P. P. Thorale Maharaj never touched food but lived entirely on fruits, Sattu (सत्तु) and buttermilk. The centuries after Shrimad Shankaracharya had never seen and experienced a Vibhuti (विभूती) like him — the absolute illustration of Grand Sanyasa Dharma.

A Barwah where thousands once again gather in Vedic chanting and daily Aarti — where Sanyas Dharma, Dnyanbij and the eternal principles of Sanatan Dharma are expounded to seeking disciples, exactly as they were in the days of P. P. Thorale Maharaj himself.
